Notice on B-BBEE Verification Agencies

the dti and the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) has, in the interest of harmonising accreditation and verifications practices put in place a process of phasing out certificates issued by non-accredited Verification Agencies. A phase out approach is favourable to ensure that further uncertainty is not perpetuated by a sudden withdrawal of non-accredited VAs from the market. Read more

Revised Draft Guidelines for the Enterprise Investment Programme and Funding Gap Methodology

The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), revised its Guidelines for the Enterprise Investment Programme (EIP), with its sub-programme the Manufacturing Investment Programme (MIP) and Tourism Support Programme (TSP), as well as the Funding Gap Methodology.

Promulgation of the National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications and Standards Acts

The NRCS and Standards Acts were assented to by the president, and published in the Government Gazette No. 31391, dated 1 September 2008.

2009 Co-operatives Conference & International Co-operatives day
The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), in partnership with the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Department of Economic Development and Tourism, and the uMsunduzi Municipality, will host the 2009 Co-operatives Conference and Exhibition, at the Pietermaritzburg Oval Cricket Stadium, from 1-4July 2009. The theme of the conference, which will be attended by more than 2 000 people, is ‘Global Recovery through Co-Operative Development’. Read more
 
the dti to participate in Gauteng Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise Opportunities Expo
The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti), in partnership with the Gauteng Youth Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GYCCI), will host the Gauteng Small, Medium and Micro Enterprise (SMME) Opportunities Expo, at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, from 24 - 26 June 2009. More than 30,000 visitors, over a period of three days, are expected to attend the first-ever Gauteng-hosted event of this nature, with specific focus on the construction, agriculture, tourism and information communication and technology (ICT) sectors.
